About The Alchemist

Every day, God gives us, as well as the sun,
a moment when it is possible to change anything

that is causing us unhappiness.
The magic moment
is the moment when a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’
can change our whole existence.
Every day, we try to pretend
that we do not see that moment,
that it does not exist,
that today is the same as yesterday
and that tomorrow will be the same too.
However, anyone who pays close attention
to his day will discover the magic moment.
It might be hidden in the instant
that we put the key in the door in the morning,
in the moment of silence after supper,
in the thousand and one things
that appear to us to be the same.
This moment exists,
a moment in which all the strength of the stars
flows through us
and allows us to perform miracles.

PAULO COELHO, BY THE RIVER PIEDRA I SAT DOWN AND WEPT

Decisions are only the beginning of something.
When someone makes a decision he is, in fact,
plunging into a powerful current that carries him to a place
he had never even dreamed of
when he made that initial decision.

– PAULO COELHO, THE ALCHEMIST

I had this magic moment recently and since have been determined to abandon my past unhappiness and live my life differently. My miracle has begun. The Alchemist is a blog about my journey to self-discovery and the realization of my dreams. The decision to live my new beginning has been made. Now let’s see where the current carries me.

Thanks for visiting, I’m glad you found us. The Alchemist is also one of my favourite books which, incidentally, I need to re-read! So thanks for the reminder, I think I will read it to my son so we can (re)discover it together. Have a fab weekend.
